The Deep Blue Fly Rod series, offers the travelling fly fisher serious performance when playing large powerful fish in harsh conditions. Not just another fly rod, painted blue & called “saltwater”. These are purpose designed with steeper tapers and thicker blank walls, to cope with powerful saltwater species. The new 2010 range has been completely re-designed, with lighter, faster, more responsive blanks and use the Pacific Bay, patented Channel Lock™ lightweight aluminium reel seats. These are undoubtedly the best on the saltwater scene, locking up effortlessly and providing all-day confidence.

Our new 2010 models feature twin bottom stripping rings. A method practiced by many Cape Cod ‘Striper’ fishermen, the addition of a second stripper ring, just above the first, has proven to ‘tame’ that first coil faster, as it snakes through the bottom guide, allowing faster line speed and extra distance.

Deep Blue rods have travelled the world, catching exotic saltwater species from Bonefish & Tarpon to Sailfish & GT's but are equally suited closer to home, spinning for Sea-Trout & Salmon, or fly fishing for Bass & Pike.

These 4pc rods pack down to a convenient 29" and come in a quality Polyester Oxford covered Rod tube for protection when travelling. The blanks are finished in a rich, deep Aquamarine varnish with matching whippings. Fitted with quality Portuguese cork handles.

The Deep Blue Boat Rods have already build a ‘cult following’, since their introduction and epitomise the very best boat rods on the market today. Make no mistake, these are not US style stand-up or trolling rods. The Deep Blue range was developed over a period of 2 years to meet the requirements of UK boat fishermen, looking for perfection. The blanks have sensitive tips allowing you to feel every bite, while the steep taper, combined with varying wall thickness and an innovative mix of carbon fibre grades, provides a progressive power curve, right down to the butt. Finished in a lustrous deep blue, with subtle whippings & decals and using Fuji fittings throughout, the Deep Blue oozes class. Unlike most boat rods on the market, the Deep Blue range are accurately rated to IGFA line classes, so if we say it’s a 12lb Class, it is.

At 7ft 7ins they offer the ideal length for the serious boat angler and include a model to suit all fishing situations. The 3 lighter rods in the range, the 8lb, 12lb & 20lb use a push-in spigot join for the butt section, while the heavier 30lb & 50lb use the Fuji screw reel fitting.

To solve this problem, we offer 2 travel versions of the Deep Blue rods. Both made with 4-pce blanks, they pack down to a neat 29” to fit your luggage.

Available in 12-20lb class for light to mid-range species and 30-50lbs for the ‘monsters of the deep!’ Although 4-pce blanks, we ensured that the action & power-curves of these two travel models matched that of the 2-piece models, precisely.
